Urbanite audiences may recall the profound impact of Terry Guest’s "moving, hilarious, inspiring, and involving" play, AT THE WAKE OF A DEAD DRAG QUEEN, from our 2021/22 season. We are thrilled to have Terry back for the world premiere of OAK!

Join us for an enlightening evening as we host a talk and toast with acclaimed Chicago-based playwright, actor, director, and teaching artist Terry Guest, alongside our Producing Artistic Director, Summer Wallace. Terry's prolific contributions to theater include the much-celebrated The Magnolia Ballet, which not only launched as a 2022 National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere but also garnered two Jeff Awards and the prestigious David Goldman Award for Best New American Play.
Terry's other notable works include A Ghost in Satin at the Williamstown Theater Festival, Marie Antoinette and the Magical Negroes, which received four Jeff Award nominations, At The Wake of a Dead Drag Queen, The Madness of Mary Todd as part of the 2020 Goodman Playwrights Unit, and Andy Warhol Presents the Cocaine Play.
